G7 minus 1

The G7 consists of us, the US, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Japan, and Great Britain. Basically all of our closest allies.

So if you’re wondering why Putin worked so hard to get Trump elected just take a look at the discord of the current G7 and you’ll understand.

Needless to say, we are going down the wrong road.

Let's see how successful a G6 is without the United States. While we're at it we should rescind all military support, bases and defense spending we do on Europe's behalf. We should also withdraw all economic treaties that are advantageous to European trade, and respond with equal tariffs on any industry of ours the EU taxes.

If the other countries stopped the brain drain to US universities the US would be in dire straits. Dependent on the children of people like Tsing Tao for advanced jobs...

The 6's 18.24 trillion vs the US 15.68

Rescinding US military support would only cause a massive outbreak of peace and goodwill in the world. Please, go for it.

It does not take a great army to topple a dictator, it is all theater. The US' use of military force is to create wealth for the military industry. Bombs are made and must be turned over in the warehouses so they get used on someone.

The world has nothing to fear from the US disappearing I'm afraid, just the opposite. The US foreign policy created boogy men will melt away in time and humanity will start to reach up to the stars.

Most authoritarian's have somehow benefited the world by doing something useful for the wrong reasons. Trump may get on that list.

And exactly WHAT was your stupid little government doing on the streets of Paris the other day? Please.

When you and Angela figure out what you're really doing to your countries, let us know.

What will the G7 look like after Brexit is finalized ?

"More than two thirds of Britons support gender equality – but just seven per cent would call themselves feminists.

Out of 8,000 people surveyed, only 560 used the ‘f-word’ to describe their views on equality."

Why 7%? Because I fear there are always people who take the squeaky wheel, shouty, bully extreme, all-or-nothing positions. Depending on the issue 1 in 10 or slightly higher can be pushed to be aggressive for a short while but 7% can live there.

So who gives a shit about the ignorance of Tsing or Eldorado, just the set of noisies wanting attention. The real work gets done by quieter more serious people.

Apparently it will have Russia in it again :)

Donald Trump calls on G7 to readmit Russia as he lashes out at allies

You know the UK will still be in it post Brexit right? It's economy won't shrink all that much.

Perhaps it is time to start a Eurovision nations group. Australia is in it now, don't ask, it has something to do with their obsession with ABBA.

If a political party wants to win working class votes in the United States - especially in the Rust Belt, they are going to have to be seen as being very aggressive towards trade deficits with countries that are seen in the eyes of that working class as taking away American jobs.

And I know that it seems racist to some folks, but enforcing existing laws on illegal immigration is also a key working class issue.

Trump has been very consistent about leveling import/export trade balances with other other nations. Just my own personal observation: everything Trump says and does is directed towards working class voters. And Trump knows full well that a Honda assembly worker in Marysville, Ohio has no fucks given for the elite politicos and their punditry. They don't stay up and watch Stephen Colbert and they could truly care less about the NYT opinion page.

US Census Bureau, April 2018 YTD Trade balances: Germany (21.9B), Japan (23.8B), Italy (9.8B), France (5.7B), United Kingdom + 3.2B. 2017 Canada (18B) 2017 Germany (64B)

And other than cynically playing to their own political constituencies, what actual leverage does France have? Or Canada or Germany for that matter...

And oh by the way, where is Canada and Germany at with their NATO commitments to increase defense spending from 1 to 2 percent of GDP?

I actually think Macron is being a bit wreckless in feeding the troll. Trump is one tweet away from smoking the CAC 40.
