Quote from Wallace:
futures are cheaper for daytrading, fx for o/n
commission less than $5 rt for one $125,000 6E Euro FX futures contract
via AMP Futures: daytrade margin is $500 o/n $5,400
http://www.ampclearing.com/trading_hours.html
via Oanda: day or o/n margin on $125,000 @ 1.42685 @ 50:1 is $3,567.13
http://fxtrade.oanda.ca/account/margin-calculator
charting/order entry program NinjaTrader is free from AMP and Global Futures
and the CQG data feed is also free
So how are futures cheaper then? $5/RT for the 6E is the same as $20 per halfturn per million - which is exactly the same what you pay for spot at IB. Since the bid/ask-spread on the future is minimum 1 tick/pip and on spot its usually below 1 tick/pip, clearly spot is cheaper. At least with IB.
I`ll write to Thomas Peterffy directly and say that i`m very good and honest person so he won`t resist.
