Fx trading throughout the year

Just a quick question about times of the year for Fx trading. Are there optimal and not so optimal times of the year for trading Fx? Holidays, end of calendar year etc?

for me personally August 21st is a very bad day for forex trading

Holidays are slow for every market, but currency markets keep volatility better than stocks. Stocks will be slow in late December, but currency markets will be better.

Volatility will be back shortly next month.
