SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME: since futures provides me more leverage than i am comfortable maximizing, what other reason could there be to trade with a prop futures firm?? thanks

I don't think there's a reason for you to trade futures unless you want to. I'm comfortable with different markets and don't see leverage a problem. One thing I might say is low margin and no obligation to wait for an uptick rule when I go short. Maybe another reason might be that I can make money in the futures market, too. I think it depends on how you want to apply the futures market.
trend 456: i guess you misunderstood my question: i trade the emini ES CONTRACT from home. i use IB and trade 2-5 contracts. why would I even consider trading with aprop firm instead? i do not see any reason to but i was wondering if someone could put insight on the question
Now I know the question. i was assuming that you where trading equities. it's a common question those equity traders always ask. I would use prop firms to increase capital and trade other markets with different methods to reduce the equity swings and to increase the opportunity of the trade. I think there's other ways, too. Since I'm a trader who trades different time frames I need a reasonable amount of capital to trade to avoid myself from overtrading.
