Anyone ever been in court where 2 EXPERT witnesses give the opposite opinions?

But we will always have people, including myself, bark out facts and figures and conclusions like WE have all the answers.

And that is just my personal opinion

Your job as a new trader is to question everything! Like last week when the Cowboys were about to easily win their game and I said, "Looks good, although I still wouldn't bet the ranch because you never know. There was once this Miami Dolphin kicker, Garo Yep .... oops."

Well there is a difference when it comes to opinions and posting a thread that says "truth". Maybe you should have called the thread "Futures or Stocks?! My opinion."

i will repeat. index futures HAVE market makers. feel free to research that.

specialists have the power to "intervene"

market makers do not

That's the beauty of the dom. If you put in the time you can see where the market makers are, lifting their bid or offer to bring it down to your entry or getting in a tick or two ahead of them on a rally, decline. Their orders are out their with yours and mine. Gotta be quick

You are talking out of your A$$. There are no market makers in globex ! You are confusing index options with index futures. FWIW a specialist is just the NYSE term for a market maker.

so, i repeat - there are market makers in the dow futures. you are WRONG




the NYSE calls its market makers "specialists", that is true. it is also true, as i said, that a SPECIALIST has power to do stuff that a market maker does not

i expect an apology. this is the internet and intellectual honesty is rare, so i'm calling you out.

You quoted cbot rules, globex is cme. Both of you need to know what you are talking about. There are market makers designated or not on every exchange, they are locals on the floor (and now off) and they provide liquidity. They play it neutral when providing liquidity but they always take a side. Have you ever seen a big bid/offer begging to take it to the number just to be lifted and sending the market on a free fall or rally? That is your market maker/local at work. They have the juice to run the stops and take a positiion to fade the move they just started, always knowing that the retail player will fall into their trap. They don't manage the inventory like the specialist or set the price but they can and do affect the actions of the participants. They are the house, odds are in their favor, be on their side. It is that easy.
