It does not bother me in the least bit. What bothers me is that NO ONE CAN TALK ABOUT STOCKS IN THAT ROOM, and ONE CANNOT SCALP.

Otherwise, I have no problem with it. However, who moderates that room? If it is someone other than an ET employee that cannot come to ANY gain from it, and if not, then that should be made clear, as that now creates a conflict of interests as there is CAN BE some financial gain to the people running a chatroom, and potential users of that room should be warned that the room is run by a VENDOR.

I think it can be a good idea to structure the rooms the way that the ET forum has been structured so that it is easier to find what you are looking for. Just be VERY CLEAR in a FAQ what the room is about, what is and what is not allowed, who moderates it, etc.

I've certainly heard from people that the main chat room with it's posting of urls, and sometimes banal off-topic conversations is quite off-putting, to say the least.

At the same time, if someone was taken aback on how they posted on a stock, I'd certainly argue that we can find a way to inform people how the Futures room might differ from the open room.

We're trying something, here.

Why don't you unknot your shorts and pay attention for a change?

I couldn't care less whether the chat is about scalping or not, but since I'm not a scalper, I have nothing to contribute. I'm interested in discussing futures with trend traders. If there aren't any, then that's that.

I am not in charge of the Futures room, Andre is. I haven't said a word about stocks or scalping in the room, much less driven anybody out. If people want to call each other names, that's fine with me. If you weren't too stupid to understand the posts on this subject, you'd have noted that I suggested "Ignore" to deal with this.

The only reason why you'd be so upset about another room is that it would take the spotlight off you. Well, kid, I guess you'll just have to stew. If there's interest, I'll try it again, whether you approve or not. If there isn't, so be it.

Stop being such a drama queen.

Try it again? Why not leave the room open and let people migrate there on their own? YOU KNOW, before you came to ET, you could have ALWAYS opened a room WITHOUT YOU ADVERTISING IT or having anything to do with it.

I personally would like to see a room with less off-topic chit chat. I don't mind the banter. I just don't like the name calling. I've heard from people that the main chat room isn't what they're looking for. No one need be offended, and we're not asking anyone to change. What we are attempting to do, is create a secondary room with a different style.

I'm sticking with it, and drawing up FAQ page to help steer the new room. And I think the main room should continue on in the same manner... trading calls, irreverent humor, wit and hanging out.

I don't think it's too much to ask that we recognize that a new room is going to take a while to establish, and will and should have its own feel and unique repartee among members.

Just curious, but what do you do in between trades?

Have you ever been surfing with a bunch of guys? There are times when you just sit out on the water waiting for the waves, shooting the shit, telling lies, just being with the boyz and chilling until the waves come in.

Or have you ever played on a football or baseball team, and when you are not on the field you just shoot the shit with the fellas until the time comes to suit up again?

your a show boater. a grandstander. you love the slime light. that's well known round these parts, no sense in trying to deny it. why else would someone have THIRTY SIX HUNDRED POSTS (oops correction -it's now over 3700!) on a message board? I beseech anyone to check them out, most of your posts say nothing, just a quick line or two to keep your name at top of the list. HA! check it out! this guy's all EGO. This is a laudable idea, a trading room less useless banter, off color jokes, and url's to porn sites (just today 777 "regaled" us all with links to his fav girlie pics)

bottom line is too much bs- ing and joking and not enuf trading and trading related convo. i know personally that more than a few have left the room or been run out by these goings on.

i applaud any attempt to improve on this model with a REAL TRADING ROOM, one that we can all enjoy, be proud of and learn from. this would be great for ET too.
 
The only way to do it is invitation only. Trust me on this. You have to approve all the participants. Get people who are interested to put their name on this thread or PM you.
Private is the only way to keep the chatters out my friend.
 
I am a man of average intelligence trying to develop my trading. I trade the ES. On Thursday, I hung out in the Futures chat room and talked with some good people.

I will not resort to the child-like behavior that is being displayed by the so called Elite Folk. I don't get it.

Gods greatest gift is that he gave us the ability to control our own thoughts. If you do not like a particular place, person or thing, so be it. Why must you advertise it. What good will come from beating each other up.

Reminds me of my three kids.

Just my $12.50.
