)Perhaps it's because bankruptcy is the best option for GM under the circumstances. It will allow GM to nullify all the contracts (with the dealers, suppliers, and the unions) and create new contracts (presumably on much more favorable terms to GM). So, in effect, GM wins, everyone else loses. Thus, GM stock is up on the news while the entire market is down. Makes sense?
Don't worry stock turder, jsut keep buying (more mos, pcx & fcx). The market always comes back!
WRONG! The market doesn't always do anything. But, it does follow trends...
Thankfully the market allows you to do this, take a mulligan if you will
