no body knows the origin of 'handle'? is it just a cool guys' term?

i used to understand /32 for bonds, but now everythigns decimal too.

They call a certain size bottle of Jack Daniels a "handle" too (1.75 L). What probably happened was that some guy was really leveraged on bond futures and they went exactly one point against him and he told his buddies that he was going to drink a handle of Jack Daniels that night to ease the pain. Hence the term.
