Funniest thing ever seen at a prop firm

Just having some fun man. I figured this thread would give us some laughs we need. I know there has to be a lot more stories out there that are hilarious that people have seen while trading.
 
Ok, lets keep this thread going. We need some things to laugh at in this market. Come on guys, there have to be more stories out there that you guys are holding out on.

Half of this business is laughing at stuff we see!!!!
 
Seems that weekend boredom set in and Pumpanddump was just having a little bit of Level II fun. Turns out he has traded prop and been at this game for a long time. Anyway, no reason for this thread to remain closed, so let the stories (and the games) continue. :)
 
Yes, God forbid there be a thread on ET where someone is BSing... anyway... here's my story. I'm an at-home trader not a prop or pro trader. So I catch one of those 20-tick+ moves at the ZN open one morning, and just at that moment my little 3 year old wakes up and walks in. I go to pick him up and AHHHHHHHH... my back... I am flat on the ground. He is laughing his little ass off as usual, and jumping on my stomach. I can't move. Meanwhile the T-Notes are retracing over the next hour or so and I can't get to the computer... flat on the ground in pain... I ended up making like 3 ticks minus a chiropractor visit. And now every time I lay down on the floor he gets a big smile on his face and says, "DOES DADDY HAVE AN OUCHIE IN HIS BACK???"

Ok, but why would it even matter if he hadn't traded prop? I've neve been a cowboy but maybe I like to hear funny cowboy stories.

Or are you just looking for somewhere to flex your moderator muscle?
 
I respond to complaints by members. I don't think it was cowboy stories as such, but someone posing as a cowboy telling cowboy stories that bothered a number of people. It's all been cleared up (along with the Level II thread) and was just for fun, so let's get on with the humorous prop firm incidents.
 
Not prop but close enough I reckon. I started out of uni on the trading floor at a small and somewhat rubbish IB. One day one of the grad class I was in was challenged to eat 100 chicken nuggets, ten quid for each one he ate but ten the other way for each one he left. About 25 in he's going ok, but clearly starting to think break even would be a good result. It's at this point that his desk head played the joker, a pre-prepared blown up picture of that chicken's head in batter thing from a few years back, at which point the youngster rushes off to void his stomach, somewhere around £250 down.

If that sounds unlikely, I guess I should mention that the challenger had been a vegetarian for over ten years.
 
One of my first experinces at a prop shop was being lead out on the floor to meet people and some of the traders were playing golf with one of those putt machines in the middle of the trading floor. But it was more like a miniature gold machine than just a pure straight putt matt. It was hilarious and right then and there I know it was going to be a journey!!!
