Why do people who were not alive in 1987 backtest to 1987? 1987 is not 2021. All everyone does is backtest, backtest, backtest.

Time for you to forward test, and draw your conclusions from the future, and not the past.

Oh, I saw it in the journal section, not the "Automated Strategy" section.

My beef with all this idea of backtest is that it cannot prepare you for the future. It can only prepare you for the past.

Be nice to see a percentage y-axis, otherwise it's hard to really draw any conclusions.

You can guess since SPY (green line) is a known at the time + I posted end of equity number.
Here is full 2020's with PL%.

Took some profits of my most profitable trade so far.

+429,000% in ~5 years.

Still not sure how I feel about that and if anything will change.

I'm quite confident it will 10x from now, but it was a long journey and there are great advantages in locking in some gains.

Good points/
but good thing ,past tends to be enough like the future to profit many times.......................................................................................................I like the SPY /S&P 500 as a benchmark\QQQ may beat it going down more \LOL.Sometimes on the upside also.
There are good reasons most brokers note the difference between an unrealized gain + a gain.
Me, i like to get paid every week, even though monthly checks tend to be much better, dividends or not.
NOT a prediction, not bank insured + not insured by any federal agency.
