Fulltime trading weird experience

benwm...TY..You see the satire in ET...You will enjoy it much better ... (once a year you may get a precious gem, but overall it is the satire)

This is one of my favourite posts... there is a lot of humour and truth in what you say...If others are feeling sympathy for you, I think they have misunderstood.

You just worked out what works for you, and stopped trying to fit other people's ideals.

Your are being yourself, and that is great.

I have always stayed to myself and wifey hates to socialize. We stay to ourselves and blessed to have a home in a great neighborhood...Neighbors that are not seen and heard are the best neighbors...and thats what we have...I saw a neighbor once when he opened his electric garage door with his remote when coming home..We all have gardening maintenence in these spacious ranch homes (3,000 sq ft) so there is not the weekend danger of seeing a neighbor working on his yard...its is just great and I have no plans to move.

I never answer the door if the doorbell rings when I am in the back of the house trading...it is usually a solicitor anyways...

Just tell your neighbors that you grow medical marijuana if they pester you...or...your an agent for the IRS...That usually works and they stay away. I told one neighbor that moved away that I was a mortician...:) (I later discovered that both of them were terminally ill and moved to Florida)

Wifey and I do not like bars and we cook at home more than we eat out. Wifey stays very professional at work and avoids socializing with other work associates.

We have our animals, which are like our children and this is the way we choose to live. Try it ...you will like it...People just take, animals only give.

At the Gym we never talk to anybody, we just get to the business of training. The gym is a couple of long blocks from Home. Sometimes we will get a taker trying to talk to us and we simply stay pretty closed-mouth and avoid them in the future. I love our Gym...we do not need to check in the old fashioned way...we simply enter a number on the keypad and the scanner scans our fingerprint and we are in....no interaction with the staff.

The only person allowed in our home or our rental is a retired engineer out of work and is a great handyman and he does the job and we pay him 25 bucks an hour and there is little conversation. He is meticulous and we are both happy with the arrangement. We see him just a few times a year and he has never had to return to fix something that he did not fix correctly.

The biggest social event is when we go to the dog park..Wifey is a groomer and many people know her there, evnthough we drive across town to get to it...damn...The Dog park would be so much nicer if the takers would just leave us alone.

On ET I socialize a lot and relate to traders. I truely like traders and can identify with them. But I do not wish to meet anybody here in person. I have done joint projects with several here and I consider them friends, but it is merely professional and remains that way.

One time someone asked me what my political affiliation was...I used to say I was a capitalist..but that is getting to be a dirty word more and more these days...(I am closest to being Libertarian)

I think bridaling the tongue has been a great challenge for me, but Wifey has taught me a lot about when to speak and when to not...The less spoken the more comfortable I am.

I agree with everything said above and couldn't have said it any better.

Well they are experiencing growth when the rest of the world is in the "global depression" many speak of...

They play the chess game farther out and their population is fully supressed and follow the will of the government without protest.

How can I say this? Well I have a right to..I have both lived in America and Socialist Sweden, where in contrast many Americans have formed their opinions without a basis...or even being in another country.

SnakeEye, I know you are from Russia and I have many friends there. I was very active under another Russian MT4 Trading Development Website for many years.

I was born in Burbank, California.

Yeah... That's true... Most of the Scandinavian countries are like one big giant cult. I met an American chick who had just come back from Sweden... She was all like "I'don't know how I'm going to be able to live without Sweden."... I was like wow... Really...??? What the hell do they put in the water there...? They're all brainwashed on their sense of superiority and importance in the world but in reality they submit to the will of whatever their gov't (or anyone they perceive as more superior than them) says... :p

As for playing the chess game... I don't know... their economies are resource based and they're enjoying the benefits of high commodity prices.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion especially those who have experienced other countries (in this case the nordic part of Europe). I have visited Denmark Norway, Sweden, and Finland) and while I did not spend 5 years in the region I was lucky enough to travel all over the place. There is no comparison between US and Scandinavia. We are much poorer (on average) and a lot less cultured (across the board). As far as social services, we are not even close. Quality of life, education, health care, infrastructure, access to media. Different league alltogether. The US is not even on the same level (for average citizen that is) and I doubt we will ever catch up. Just my 3 cents.

Well, apples to oranges really. Scandanavian countries are not merely 200 years old and comprised almost entirely of rather recent vintage ( 2nd to 4th generation ) immigrants.

From Wiki: "The vast majority of the human population of Scandinavia are Scandinavians, descended from several (North) Germanic tribes who originally inhabited the southern part of Scandinavia and what is now northern Germany, who spoke a Germanic language that evolved into Old Norse and who were known as Norsemen in the Early Middle Ages."

So, in essence, you are comparing one tribe developed over many centuries versus a plurality of many developed over two centuries (usually less). To wit, apples to oranges by definition. You are, however, simply stating an observation and I don't want to imply that you are making a value judgement per se.

And I thought this country was "one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all". Whatever fuck that means. I s'pose only two types of rugged individualism, which we value so highly, identify this country: the members of the Tea Party (conservatives) and those who are hooked on Starbucks Coffee (liberals).

LOL

Another problem of mine: boredom, sometimes just don't know what to do, so just found a job, from 1pm to 9pm, starting to regret, stress and tired, main purpose of the job is to kill time, and also less stress to trading.

Couple of weeks back when i just went full time, feel so important to make profit, but now with the extra money from the job to cover bill. But then again, my profit is about 3 to 4 times or more of my job pay, so again now i feel regret to get a job

u know, i just so confused, about this fulltime thing, before this is my dream, but after trying it, feels different, but maybe i just need to try longer period like a few months of fulltime, i give up so easily and look for a job, so just dilemma:

Fulltime trading: my passion, but at times when everyone is at work, so bored, just waiting for 6pm to come to see my spouse and go out to mall shopping without people saying "you are not working today?"

At work: sucks big time, but kill time easily, but tired, body ache

Feel like quiting my new job now...

Let me get this straight, you got a job because you were bored?? Why not go volunteer or something, i mean, thats the point of trading, to have freedom to do what we want, not to go back to some office and sit there for 8 hrs. 95% of traders would love to be in that situation, i bet they would not go back to work though. There have been good ideas in this thread alone on what you can do to kill time, besides work, which in my opinion is the worst option. Volunteering at food shelter, go to local school, see if you can tutor or something, etc....., many options. We trade to be free, not trade to go back to work.

My trading is done by midday, after that, it is lunchtime. Always trying to find things to do in the afternoon, everyone is at work, feel so weird when my retired neighbor look at me with kind of "why you not out there working 9 to 5 job", i did not say I'm a trader, I'm not sure whether it is the social pressure which is causing me to feel this way or I'm too concerned about wat people think...

Before going trading fulltime few weeks ago, i have been working 9 to 6pm, now there's so much free time, but i just not enjoying it, instead, i'm feeling weird not working, with all those stares...

I quit my work a few month ago, to live of my own investments. Living in Norway, most people would not understand what a trader is. When I tell them what I do, some seem to think that I am plain lazy. Or a little crazy. And maybe I am. But I am free.
