Full Time/ Part Time

I trade to fund my lifestyle, that is I live off what I make trading. I spend maybe a couple hours a day looking at charts and placing trades. To me that's part time. Or possibly full time with a really short work day.
let me clarify:
* if you trade low frequency
and/or
* if you’re a hobbyist and don’t care about excess returns
then, you probably do not need many hours in the day. If you’re trying to daytrade fx you’ll need a lot more time.
I’m not saying you ever need 80+ hours per week, but if you’re trying to make a living off of trading then the hours do creep up.

Bankers hours[central time ]are part time;\
better get something else than banker priced money.
4x seems a bit to much for new traders; most use 3x or 2x or cash ETFs, or 2x. Try not to do ES unless you work @ CME; or get entangled in medical industrial complex , full time.
Money market[brokerage, not 4x] pays 4.44% or more, consider what some of those banks do; make a million or half a million, on $500,000,000, better than bonds. 5% +/
Depends on how much you can make trading it. If you can make enough profit to pay all your bills, you can trade it full-time otherwise having a part-time job on the side would help.

I dont know of anything where the average pay is the same for 7 hours + 72 hoursLOL.
i asked that metals dealer cashier, bought any gold this year ??She said no; buys plenty of cash copper, stainless steel, tin,tons of steel..............................................................
B Baruch said dont speculate part time;
but its nice to have more than one income stream , so exceptions can apply well to most any rule.

Since this question is in Protrading; no time in Forex for me.
I did trade a gold trigger BroWning A-5 for cash.
But frankly i asked the metals dealer cashier[2022, 2023] if she bought any gold this year No she said;
they made more markets in copper, clean copper, unclean copper stainless steel, steel, brass , tin lead , brass shells.........................
