The fundamental premise is flawed. Secret alphas on sitting on a 'trusted' third party server.
If a coder has created a smooth wealth building strategy it would remain with him and only him to his grave (maybe he would pass it on to his kids post retirement). This is why others such as Quantopian have failed.

Not sure about crowded field; now Quantopian no longer offer API connectivity QuantConnect seem to have the field to themselves.
