I must tell you , I was overly impressed with the software, hardware, location, manager and most of all the deal structure. The only downside was the geeky looking manager at the front desk.He had zero understanding of the business which could be construed as a negative.

What software did they use and what type of a deal are they offering?

We never spoke directly about a deal for me but I think that are offering 80% payouts and a penny per share.

They use the Watcher system with executions through Penson or SLK.

Management seemed stable but I think the guy at the front was just a geek and a bum, but I think thats something in all these prop firms.

Mitch I appreciate the offer to speak but I regretfully decline because my friends(whom still are there) hate it!

There have been many posts regarding Generic Trading ...so anyone who is interested can check them out here on ET. They are an "old line' firm, and respected in the industry (pricing is sometimes a bit high...but it varies).

Regarding "hate-it" - I won't speak for Mitch, but I really doubt that anyone "hates it" - if that refers to Bright Trading. There are other options out there, and I know that John and Mitch in Miami have a good group there. They actually moved to a bigger location to make room for the additional people that are coming on board.

Anyway, I wish you all the best, wherever you're trading!!

Hold Bros. has a small office in Ft. Lauderdale (with a manager who trades and knows the business) located near Commercial Blvd. & US1. Call there if you have any questions (954-229-9733).

Key questions to ask the traders there. NOT the mgmt.

1. How often has the charting system been down? How often has the order entry system been down?

2. How old are the computers?

3. Do you get your own charting?
