What do you use for your signals. Do you prefer trend trading, breackouts, or divergences? If you could give some ideas I am sure people could help you and maybe even help spot true signals during the day.

Both of my main methods could be classified as sort of a trend resumption method. My PROVEN method is deffinetly a trend continuation method. My unproven and the one I'm actually more interested in and will probalbly trade more today is more of a trend/breakout method... where the breakout signals a resumption in trend. I will not go into details on how each of these setups occur though.
 
Good news, I patiently waited for a signal.. took the trade with confidence. Bad news I got out for no reason and only made $20 on the trade...... Then watched it easily continue the way it should have... My "plan" states I should not think about taking ANY profits until 10 pts into the green, only take before If I feel the trade is getting in trouble.... So something to work on, but hey at least i waited for a signal...

Fair enough. Here is what looks like a continuation pennant trying to form on the YM right now. I'll keep an eye on it. But a break to the downside could be something to look at. Hope it helps.

Looks to have failed before I sent it. and looking at the Bollinger Bands I see why. But no loss would have been had either.
 
I feel really stupid, Dont know why I even tried changing up what I do.... seems like everytime I try to change something up to trade more "textbook" and with common rules it makes me trade MUCH worse..... I never have problems trading in the morning, every trade I tried makign thus far was what hte methods said to do.. but my freaking stops keep getting hit now.... in every trade I got sotped out on, I would ahve taken small 3 or 4 pt profits on each one, and woudlnt have taken any losses, but trying to hodl for the bigger moves causes my stops to get nailed, so now i'm down -122 already.... WHY DO I try to change!!!

Now down 307.. this is freaking nuts.... I really dont know why I try changing.... over the past 3 weeks overall I have been up, doing what I been doing.... the 2 days I try changing something both tuesday and today I have blow ups.... seems like a coincidence to me...
 
Hey look,

I didn't trade for a year after I had consecutive losses for a week.

Something obviously wasn't working.

I put in the effort, re-tooled and put together a system that I like, saved up the money for a decent account and set about trading the right way.

So ... STOP!

Go back to square 1 and do the work

Do what you were doing on the day you made $200.00 Myself I don't like trading on Fridays in the summer. I always got whipped around on false breakouts.
