Biden, Harris accused of 'gaslighting' for suggesting Capitol Hill rioters, 'peaceful' BLM double standard


President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harrisare facing intense pushback for suggesting that there has been a double standard between how law enforcement treated the Capitol Hill rioters on Wednesday versus the "peaceful" Black Lives Matter protesters last summer.

Trump supporters sparked unrest on the steps of the Capitol Building as a joint session of Congress was certifying Biden's Electoral College victory, causing lawmakers to go into lockdown. The riot left four dead, including one pro-Trump demonstrator who was shot and killed by Capitol Hill police, and at least 68 arrests, according to D.C. police.

However, while addressing the nation on Thursday, both the incoming president and vice president indicated that there was a great disparity between what took place on Capitol Hill and the violence that took place across the country last year following the death of George Floyd on May 25 while in the custody of Minneapolis police.

Critics slammed both Biden and Harris for pushing such a narrative, many noting their lack of condemnation of the violence that took place last year.

Four people are dead after what happened yesterday. And you know what? People died last summer, too. Countless businesses destroyed. People’s livelihoods set on fire and stolen. You refused to condemn that violence. Yesterday was horrific, but you’ve lost your right to moralize," National Review writer Alexandra DeSanctis scolded the incoming president.

"This is complete nonsense," conservative writer A.G. Hamilton reacted to Biden's remarks. "It's gaslighting that requires ignoring what we actually witnessed on a nightly basis last summer."

"They really just know how to make everything so much worse. This is untrue, divisive race-baiting, and absolutely no one in the media will call her out for this lie," podcast host Allie Beth Stuckey tweeted in reaction to Harris. "This is the same woman who tweeted out a BAIL FUND for rioters who burned down Minneapolis."

The experience of 100's of Trump rallies is that there was little need for extra police patrols for security.

So its not surprising that the DC police did not ramp up for this rally
In the Floyd riots most police were told to stand down for the first few nights, then when the riots persisted the police started to hold ground
Had the mob returned to the Capitol for a second night there would have been police like you never seen

When there's this much blood in the water the political sharks will revert back to their primal selves. No interest in unity today fellas, it's full kill mode, anything goes.
We're going to get 12 sold days of grandstanding and hacks tripping over each other for camera time. Meanwhile the vaccine rollout looks like it'll take until this time next year to be administered, over half a million businesses are dead in the water with thousands more failing every month, millions have lost jobs that are not coming back. One might think the new administration might be game planning that. Nope, business as usual. Do nothing but take shots at your political opponents, slice and dice the nation into pieces, fan the flames of hate. But they're different, really they are. When the protestors turned on the Capitol, the pollice backed off and let them through while some did try and fight them back. They basically walked them in and took pictures/selfies and put up very little resistance.

Why did we have to wait for the mob to return a second night when the cops did nothing to begin with the most important time. No National Guard called in until hours later.....

Security leaders should all resign in shame for failure to protect the Capitol. One woman tried to drive her car into the Capitol in 2012 and there was a massive response and she was gunned down. here they opened the gates...
