From the Newbie Desk: why pick this stock?

I see. When I look at AMZN and TSLA, for example, I consider their potential for a $500 rise, and time to get there. If equal, I'll trade the cheaper stock for greater gains. In the end it's the same logic.
I guess I agree with that. If I felt that one stock was going to increase 54% and the other 15% I'd probably buy the one increasing 54%
The 100 share logic is just practical, for speed of execution. I don't enter numbers of shares. Although that's a habit from when I was day trading a lot, something I'm probably not going to go back to. Too stressful.
I was going to say that your method of trading doesn't need split second execution. How much time does it take to calculate a position size? Wouldn't buying a fixed dollar amount be better than buying a fixed number of shares.

I am beginning to scale into my positions. If the trade goes against me my loss is smaller and if it moves in my direction I add and still keep my losses under control.
