I always had a dream to work as market maker and at least have a practice in such company who MM some option markets, but i live outside US and its very difficult to obtain such a job.
3. Decent props/MMs
Janestreet, Optiver, FlowTraders
All of them large companies who are liqudity providers and market makers, it would be great to work there as a trader, but they wanted at least 3 years of market-makers and I have a very few ideas how to obtain it.
So, my question is does it make sense to start with a small props to have statement from them that can be my pass to a larger firms? Or please share you thoughts about other ways.
I can't offer you any guidance, but I'm curious about specifically what type of job you're seeking with these firms and what your background is? I had imagined that any or all market making these days were done electronically and that to land a job with any of these firms typically required a very specific background.
If you have a positive two year track record I had imagined it would be easier for you to see if you could use that to somehow land a job with a fund. I saw someone on Trade2Win earlier this year who claimed to be recruiting traders to a hedge fund provided they could provide a track record.
Good luck and please make sure to give an update if you make any progress.
