From $5k to $50k

you'd have a better shot getting to 50k if you start out with 500k

I think that such returns are easier made with small amounts. Size effects.. Depends the strategy ... But the probabilities are the same. Scaling.

Sorry. I didn't get it properly. XD

There will be no thread. This won't even last 3 weeks. Should we bet?

Troll elsewhere.
On ignore you go.

I think Pekelo's post wasn't a troll post, but just based on the general observation that there must 9999 of these type of journals "$XXX to Y,000,000 in a couple of months" here at ET that usually do not make it past the first page of posts.

I see that yours is on page 2. So you are to be congratulated for taking it further than most.

I think there probably are a few who could do something like this, though I wonder if any of them could do it publically. I'm reminded of @speedo's recent post elsewhere:

Marty "Pit Bull" Schwartz was a heavy hitter in the S&P pit when it was introduced in the 80s. He made millions trading it. He tels the story when after he moved to electronic trading, he made a visit to the CME to see some of his old pals. The new traders gathered around as his reputation was known by all. They egged him on to make some trades and show his stuff. Being the Pit Bull, he had to trade size (the pit contract was already 5x the size of the ES) and he quickly lost a good bit of money.

Moral of the story....for most traders, exhibition trading is not only difficult but is also not smart.

Correct. His journal from last year lasted 3 pages with 2 trades...

This thread will die in 3 pages like the last one. In order to so he will have to take risky bets.

Why not start a thread "From $5K to $6K in one year" That is a 20% gain which is very good.

If you can repeat that year over year people will throw money at you to invest for them. Actually if you made 10% a year consistently you are doing better than a lot of hedge funds

With a 2% monthly return, your investment grows at approx 25-26% per year. Start with with $10,000 and obtain that return. Then every year invest 5,000 additional dollars. You will be near $1million in approx 15 years

To grow 5K to 50K in 12 months means 19% a month. A bit unrealistic

When dealing with small, miniscule even, acct sizes like $5k, you can leverage up like a maniac and go for ridiculous growth rates. I have seen 5k to 250 k for instance in a year (that guy did blow up a few times though!). So 5k to 50k is achievable, perhaps the odds are against it, but so what!

Good luck (again, since i wished you good luck in your last thread). Post your trades. Don't be afraid for being wrong or of success. Just do it. If you lose, it is only $5k (i would stop and replenish the acct if you lose say $3k or $4k).
