My Black girlfriend only can parrot Democrat narratives that Orange Man is bad. She is so far unable to connect long term prosperity for people with Republican sound policy. This will change. However, I am hearing more and more Black folk talk positively about Trump in public conversations. It does not take many to switch sides to cause a major impact in voting results in the Presidential election. The Democrats this week have given a lot for their base to be embarrassed out.
Even your post above does not provide any specifics why Democrats are better for Blacks than Trump. More Blacks (And young people for that matter) are employed under Trump than ever before. Because of sustained US prosperity, employee demand has increased while available workers have decreased which in turn has been increasing wages.
Economic prosperity means better personal finances and the positive possibilities that go along with that. That is Trump. Long term poverty and multigenerational public assistance are Democrat polices at work. You do know most public assistance people live, don’t you? That’s right, in long term Blue controlled slums in major cities.

1. Actual election results in 2016. Predictions in the media were Hillary would defeat Trump. The media stated Trump had no path to victory because of Hillary’s “Blue wall”. Subsequent analysis showed Conservatives were less likely to participate in polls than others because of their distrust of the media.
2. Betting odds. Although in 2016, the odds favored Hillary until election night, they did show Trump as having a reasonable chance at winning the Presidency.
3. Relative election impact of specific groups of people in poll election predictability. Measuring diehard party line voters does not yield much useful information because for the most part, this group is set in their ways. However, Independents are much more responsive to political events and are a better indicator of a candidate’s election prospects. Further, recent polls have showed a surge of Trump popularity among Independents which could be considered a positive leading indicator for him
4. Voter turnout: Polls don’t predict voter turnout. A voter who says they hate Trump may not do anything about it, especially if they don’t believe it in their heart.
5. Trump is a strong leader and the Presidential election makes comparing recent state results along with weaker politicians not a valid indicator on Trump’s reelection chances.
Trump seems likely to win reelection in a landslide because of strong sustained economic, including job growth with improved wages and stock market performance combined with a weak Democratic field, ongoing Democratic incompetence and corruption, and no viable Democratic platform.
