Friday: Bang! Zoom! To the moon Alice.

I wont, what is this going to do to growth this year in the US economy notwithstanding the building of temporary housing in NO and surrounding areas.

Those people will not be sipping Starbucks and buying laptops anytime soon...

Just something to think about.

Can't speak for Houston, but a very large portion of NO didn't sip starbucks or buy laptops before this happened anyway....

No. Don't think so.

Rita is a one time event. Or, the left hook after the right cross in this case.

But Hurricane season will be over in 2 weeks.

Impact is temporary, and disruption is localized, minimal in regard to the overall economy.

Oil supplies can handle gulf shutdowns and despite the hike in gas prices after Katrina - that wretched cunt - there has been no meaningful supply disruptions in gasoline.

................'the left hook after the right cross'...........

Haven't i read that somewhere before???........plagiarism.....class!

No laptops but two women took their fed debit cards and bought $800 handbags in Louis Vuitton acording to the Wall Street Journal!

CNBC reports that National Hurricane Center says Rita will likely make landfall in upper Texas as Category 3 instead of Category 4

Yeah, like Hurricanes never make a little jog to the left or the right just before landfall . . . It's so easy to predict.
Especially if the Hurricane stalls out over a certain area.
