A certain section of Russians are exactly that. How else do you explain how they carry pictures of Stalin around proudly in the 21st century (!). There's also the intelligent part of Russia which is almost like a different species of human. They have nothing in common with the Russian-Olympic-suit-wearing, Mercedes-driving, gun-toting Putin lovers who I wouldn't even call human.

I don`t like Putin, but you don`t like a bipolar world right?Or you want a bipolar world with Chinese? You probably also want to be impanted with microchips and NSA peeping into each and every email you send.

How about Trump about to kill 100 000 christians tomorrow in Syria. Will he be a human for you after that?

Well, you can find a certain section of pretty much any ethnic group which exhibits some undesirable "immoral" trait, even if you don't look all that hard.

I am personally of the opinion, like sle and maybe others, that there really isn't anything fundamentally qualitatively different about Putin and Russia. Regardless of the West's outrage, in acting in its self-interest, Russia hasn't really done anything that others haven't done before. And, before you ask, I am no great fan of Putin, although I think he's far from the worst outcome that Russia could end up with. Obviously, given that I am originally Russian, I could very well be biased.

Since 2006, the Holodomor has been recognized by Ukraine and 15 other countries as a genocide of the Ukrainian people carried out by the Soviet government. Up to 7.5 million Ukranians were murdered.
At a certain time, hunger was the perferred method of spreading terror. The "civilized" countries like the British have played these games too - for instance, up to 4 million Bengali have died in the 1943 famine, with the total death toll being up to 30 million in India alone. It's incredible and sad how thin the layer of civilization and what horrible things come out once it's peeled.

I just don't see how bringing up history of horrible actions is relevant. Almost every country has things in the recent history it should be ashamed of. How is it relevant to the ongoing French elections?

Weaponization of various aspects of economic activity is not a new thing. The US has weaponized financial markets way before Gazprom has become an entities.

In fact, I feel that economic wars are preferable to real ones, at least people don't die. Well, even that is only partially true.

So back to on topic here.....
Will hacking, or the possibility thereof, be an issue or is France ahead of the U.S. in that game.

Thank you! I think we might see some form of leakage but the French are probably less sensitive to this sort of stuff imho.
