Free spirits

i understand that most people are out of touch with reality, and i do not expect them to appreciate, understand, or even grasp it. But can I really be alone in being nauseated by the original post of this thread?

The idea of spending money to visit death, suffering and misery is...is so incredible to me that I cannot wrap my mind around it. And How this activity could possibly relate to "free spirits" or a "holiday" is so far beyond my comprehension.

or maybe I just need to be born rich insulated and without a soul telling my friends things like, "let them eat cake" to truly appreciate the original post.?

I regard it more as exposure to contemporary history, currently in a highly fluid state... I would equate it more to a personal journalistic experience than visiting a coloseum of death... thank you for gracing my thread with your first post...

( on the issue of me being born rich, nothing could be further from the truth... I started trading with $20k to my name and have created a living off that over the years... )
 
Some nice pics there Opm... you seem to like taking physical risks like I do (although the nature of the risks are different)... my gut feeling is that a higher than usual % of traders (as compared to the general population) are like you and me in respect of physical risk taking...

don't take what I am going to say as a bash against you because its not meant to be. But your making a lot of assumptions based on your ideas and conceptions of your reality. Your also using the term "trader" very loosely. If when you say trader your talking about that small percentage making a living at it and making a good living I think your all wrong. They are not risk takers at all. What appears to many to be a risk is a very calculated move on their part.

As far as physical risks go about all that many of them take a risk at in that area is what they will eat on their two - three hours lunch break. Don't believe me then visit Wall Street and take a look at the specialists. Not many rock climbers there.
 
Hey guys, where's the fun on this thread? I thought I'd be cool to see pictures of people's travels and exploits but now we are mired in more political and moral bickering. Granted this type of debate has its place but can't we just have one ET thread that isn't a downer? Throw up a website of your pics. Lescor and I did our part. Let's see what you free spirits like to do with your lives outside of trading.

Nice pics ElCubano. I knew you were a big outdoorsman from some prior threads. Your signature, "Freedom .. I have much love for ya!", made me think. That's what its all about. My lifestyle as a trader as well as on the slopes is all about expressing personal freedom. I'm sure many others have taken up trading for some of the added freedom. Keep livin' the dream guys!
