or has JPM discovered negatives about FRC while going through the books or is JPM playing hardball before signing off or are speculators/traders just playing around with stock or none of the above?

One solution is divide the bank in 3 parts+ get rid of all the managers that failed it.Sell it.
Will JPM buy it, dont know\ not likely .

Charles SCHW could buy it/ if he wanted it;
but he moved some stuff years ago from CA to TX, may not want it.

No stock risk . Hedge funds cannot push the banks around with this deal.

HFs will keep it down. Deposit is a liability on the balance sheet, pays interest.
