Fraudulent Behavior Button Trader

Quote from local_crusher:

I agree with jtrader, that this kind of behaviour does not reflect what a probably larger, reputable firm would do.

But here it's more like the small local gym you probably know of, once you 'signed in', they will suck every cent out of it if it's legitimated by their paperwork (and it is in this issue), regardless if one could say it's really justified.
Why should there be a refund if the subscription was not canceled in a timely manner?

You mean where you signed up for a six month subscription, then decided you didn't want to pay for it, and tried to get your refund despite agreeing to a "no refund" policy? What if you were given a code that worked on the gyms doors for 6 months and it couldn't be revoked. Should they still give you a refund knowing you can still use the gym? That's more analogous to this situation, at least based on what hoi posted about the password hard-coding (whether that's a good technical decision may be an issue, but without knowing more about the design I can't comment on that....but as Rummy says, it is what it is....)

Did you guys also refinance with those teaser rates and now you're asking uncle sam to freeze your rates, saying it's the right thing for a big bad "reputable" mortgage company to do?

If making a company reputable means refunding your money no matter what, remind me NEVER to do business with you......

Why do you guys comment if you don't understand what happened?

1. Paid for subscription September 3
2. Cancelled subscription September 3
3. No complaints at this point
4. Charged for subscription December 3
5. No notification, just charged December 3
6. Complained to Hoi December 3
7. Told to pack sand December 3
8. Hope the same thing happens to you

Very last try:

This is what PayPal-records are telling:

1) subscription 1 month on Aug 2
2) Cancelled on Sep 3
3) new subscription 3 months on Sep 3
4) renewal payment on Dec 3

You're a stand-up guy Hoi and we all know it here. Don't worry about it. Just another victim mentality/entitlement complex at work.

Not even that.

The kid is just a piker.

Hey look jtTrader, I'm going to re-write this to let you (and everyone else) know I'm not attacking you personally.

But if there is a conflict, anyone who is familiar with the App is going to take Hoi's side, because we know qualty work when we've seen it, and even more importantly, we've been around a long time and had to deal with a million and one different situations which makes your $100 out of pocket loss pale in comparison ... and a lot of those problems were do to truly inferior order entry platforms.

BT is best of breed in the industry, I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it, and for anyone who is not familiar with it, take a look at the specs, it's customizable to the individual traders' skill/sophistication level, allows multi-strategy trading of multiple accounts, and costs a fraction of its closest competitor.

Nobody who knows the trading business, and knows trading apps, believes Hoi did anything fraudelent or screwed you over in any way, we think you're new to the game and made a mistake.

Hope everything works out for you though, there's nothing like getting experience to help one understand things better in life.

Hoi,

I'm not actually a subscriber, but I visited your website once a few months ago. Can you be reputable and refund my money (even though I didn't actually pay anything)? And maybe throw in a little something for the kids too :p

All posters in this thread need to be reputable and refund all my money (you each owe me $50). Thanks in advance.

jtTrader, do your paypal records show the 3 month subscription on Sept 3? Seems you would have paid for that and would show that in your history. Do you not see this?

I would assume you would have proof of the email warnings?

I did not receive them. If I had, we would not be here.

The key point is, if you renew a 6 month subscription, and later cancel, and it is renewed for another 6 months, you are screwed.

Hoi will take your money. What would a reasonable vendor do? Refund, so that they will get your business in the future.

The other problem with PayPal is that you cannot see what subscriptions you have open. The only way is to go to the history of the transaction, and cancel there. If you have alot of transactions, this is really difficult. I assume it is buried there on purpose.

I hope you enjoy the $100, as that is the last you will see from me.

Again, if I were cancelling something I would a) send an email and b) get an acknowledgment of said email. Evidently you didn't do this.

But in this case, you also didn't cancel your PayPal billing. This is rather easy to do on PayPal.

I don't see that you have any complaints. What I would do if I were you is figure out what I did wrong, and how to correct that error in the future. In this case, it's obvious.

And, now that you have an ongoing subscription to ButtonTrader, go make a one lot ES trade...that ought to pay for it.:)

By the way, I've been a subscriber to ButtonTrader for a while. Great product, and Hoi provides really great support.

OldTrader

Yeah, one lot for 2pts ... :D

Come on kid, we aren't mad at ya, we're just (patiently) trying to talk some common sense to you, teach you something, and educate you a little about the business.

Yeah, it [this industry] has rampant fraud in it, but definitely not on Button Trader's end of the stick.

Good trading,

Jimmy Jam
