Fox's Shep Smith fact-checks Trump's Amazon claims: 'None of that was true'

Since you insist on calling everyone liars to defend Trump, I did some research.

Every year, an independent agency called the Postal RegulatoryCommission makes sure the USPS' deals make economic sense. And year after year, the commission has approved the deal with Amazon. In its 2017 annual report, the USPS even said its shipping and packages business helped the "financial picture of the Postal Service."

There goes that talking point.
Research? Please.

Jem is right and you're wrong. Act like a man for once and admit it.

Take a break from trolling and educate yourself on revenue. Even you can generate revenue by selling a product or service at a loss.

Your CNBC link makes a big deal of an increase in "shipping and packages" revenue but doesn't say if it exceeded all associated costs, let alone disclose Amazon's numbers. Same with USPS's 2017 report. Which is telling because one would think they'd be happy to report the news if it was good.

GAO published an audit last year saying USPS is a deteriorating, unsustainable financial mess. On top of increasing their workforce by 22K, salary increases and work hours keep rising due to the growth in shipping and packages. Since compensation and benefits are almost 80% of their expenses and they've already racked up over $120 billion in unfunded pension & healthcare liabilities and debt, it may very well be they're losing money with Amazon given their lousy track record, the big discounts and Sunday deliveries.

The terms of Amazon's contract that your touted Postal Regulatory Commission approved aren't known to the public, so we're just supposed to trust them? The same commission that's done so much for USPS since 1970? GTFO!!!

Bottom line: there's no way Shepard Smith could have known "none of that was true." And I doubt your joke of a commission does either.

So it's upto Amazon to make USPS profitable and they are solely responsible for it being a financial mess? The fact that their deal makes economic sense and is vetted as such doesn't mean anything to you philistines, Dotard made a dumb statement and you cultists will go to any lengths to gaslight to defend that moron.

ANd USPS is 'unfunded' because of the Bush era law that stipuates they fund their pensions years in advance and USPS servicing rural areas (read Trump country) is why they are unprofitable, they cannot choose their routes like private players.

Nobody cares what you trust and get educated on why USPS is struggling. GTFO

The USPS is unprofitable because of rural areas. I live in a suburban town of 70,000 people and there is a line out of the door almost every time I go to the post office.

The problem is the republican congressmen don’t want to close rural post offices and consolidate them into county and regions.

Amazon is the best thing that has happened to the USPS in the last hundred years. Trump is terrible at being the president and doesn’t see lines. He will try to use any corruption to get his way. This issue with amazon is proxy for his war with the Washington Post.

Right, the commission has done such a great job in the past that we should trust them now and it's all Bush's fault anyway. :D Another fact free response from probably the biggest loser ever to post on ET.

Such a great job that they have more than $120 billion in unfunded pension & healthcare liabilities and debt.

Such a great job that the GAO said in a report last year that USPS is a deteriorating, unsustainable financial mess.
