Any attorney who has ever taken a sensitive depo knows you need to have a lot of time to cover background and discover inconsistencies. 5 minutes segments with 5 mins of friendly in between would almost be worthless in terms of being able to develop and explore inconsistencies.

So unless there was a hour long segment for questioning without interruption I doubt anything will be discovered.

My thoughts exactly. I am not very impressed with this prosecutor, but in fairness, she has an impossible task. Why did they bring her in anyway? They have committee lawyers who could have questioned the witnesses. The point is however, the confirmation process is not designed to investigate 35 year old claims regarding drunk teens. There could have been whatever sort of FBI investigation would be possible, but Feinstein sat in the allegations to preclude that.

“This is a disaster for for the Republicans,” he continued. “[The GOP prosecutor] is treating this like a deposition, like a court hearing and as a result, we’re now 15 minutes in. If there’s one round of 11 senators, that’s 55 minutes, she’s basically almost a third done and she hasn’t gotten anything from this woman.”

“And meanwhile, the Democrats are landing haymakers,” Wallace added, noting that Blasey Ford had recalled the “laughter” of Kavanaugh when he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

“The Democrats are making their points and building her credibility and Rachel Mitchell hasn’t landed a glove on this witness,” he pointed out.

This circus seems like it was meant to fail.

Well, 5 minutes in...he came out strong.... his voice had the right timbre, but the beat is off. The stress has obviously gotten to him (rightfully so I guess). He's choked up 3 or 4 times. Probably not good.

Lets see how he handles the grandstanding and grilling by Corey and Kamala. I have a feeling his "from the hip" is gonna be far better than his prepared statement. There won't be any tears then. He's gonna fire back hard. Watch.
