But mass shootings ARE increasing. You are confusing facts with propaganda. The fact is that mass shootings are becoming more numerous and reporting that is not a distortion.
But your point is still valid. All news sources need to be looked at with a critical eye. ALL corporate-based news is highly suspect as is any news source that caters to a political faction.

1. I never said that mass shootings were decreasing. I said that dying in a mass shooting is an unlikely event. You're 2.6 times more likely to be hit by lightning than to die in a mass shooting. You're over 60 times more likely to be killed by a drunk driver.
2. According to FBI statistics annual total gun homicides have decreased almost 40% in the last 20 years.
3. Our gun murder rate is driven primarily by one thing: GANGS. Of the 8,500 gun murders in the US, over 6,000 are gang-related. If we eliminate gangs from the picture our gun murder rate drops by over 70%. If we eliminate all gun mass murders, our gun murder rate drops by only 1.5%.
The problem is obvious. Most reporters and mass media don't want people to know the truth. To them, telling the truth is racist.
