Fox News: Democrat Mark Sanford admits to affair...

Quote from monty21:

The Christian-Right doesn't attempt to criminalize adultery? We'll that's bizarre.... are they skipping certain parts of the bible where it suggests that both the cheater and mistress be executed?

What about the ten commandments? Can you covet your neighbor's wife, ask for forgiveness from your priest... and move on? Is that what the bible says? I don't think so.

I suppose the radical evangelicals nit-pick what to believe and adhere to... from the bible... aka word of God (to them)... that's not hypocritical in itself.

Yes it's bizarre - followers of religions are notorious for repeatedly breaking the commandments they are supposed to follow. But what has any of that got to do with my point? Until whacko christian fundamentalism carries the force of law, it's not much of an issue. Whereas high and rising taxation, heavy regulation, big government, and a shift towards quasi-socialism - those are all happening as we speak, and will get enforced by the police and courts to compel your compliance.

This guy is STILL lying.

Shouldn't he do himself and his family a favor and just shut up?

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford admitted Tuesday that he saw his Argentine mistress more times than previously disclosed, including what was to be a farewell meeting in New York chaperoned by a spiritual adviser soon after his wife found out about the affair.

Guess his spirit wasn't moved enough - he had to fly down there and see her again.

isnt this basically the same thing clinton said?
He says that during the other encounters he "let his guard down" with some physical contact but "didn't cross the sex line." He wouldn't go into detail.

Why is Mark Sanford telling the public his girlfriend is his soul mate, and he have to learn to love his wife again? That is very hurtful to his wife. No law is saying he has to tell his personal thoughts. Ok, he has the girlfriend, but why hurt his wife more to tell everyone how much he loves the girlfriend?

The only way Sanford can possibly rescue his political career is to switch parties. Then the media will start covering up for him and attacking anyone who raises questions.

He obviously has no respect for his wife or he would have divorced her first.

As for his parenting responsibilities, Father's Day-eve would have been a great time to sit his 4 boys down and tell them:
"Boys, you know mom and I have been having a rough time lately, and Father's Day would be a good day to spend some quality time with you and help you sort through the emotional turmoil this is causing you...but, Daddy would rather spend the day in a bar with his mistress - so see ya!"
