FOX cuts off girls praise of Russian troops

OK, if the word "useful" bothers you let me rephrase - the video was not informative, illuminating, factual or in any way helpful to the understanding of the nature of the conflict.

To the extenet that any of the secondary or tertiary information that falls to us can be taken as Truth, that girls tertimony might be as unfettered with ideology as we can hope to get. All she cared about was what was happening to her and her mother. We all cling to our predigested personal political leanings where how we're believing who started it is concerned. Her input is as illuminating as any.

Well, it's not necessarily you but the video has been plastered all over the internet as some kind of a revelation or an ultimate proof that Saakashvili is worse than Saddam or something like that. In fact it's just an opinion of one little girl who represents one side of the conflict, provides absolutely no facts or relevant information and has no idea what she is talking about. Her aunt is older but all my points apply to her interview as well.

She sounded coached and pretty ideological to me. I am paraphrasing but "I blame Georgia for the conflict" coming from a 12 year old is as ideological as it gets.

Which was pretty much nothing. She did not know who started the conflict, she did not see any bombs falling, no one she knew was killed or wounded, her uncle did not have any problem driving to pick them up, driving them home and driving them to Russia next day. All that was happening under allegedly genocidal Georgian bombing. Yeah, right.

Who isn't coached. Its not what was said but who said it. A child might have less predigested baggage to reach into for her perspective than an adult. Noones done an ubiased CSI on who done it so ... and if they did can you see the other side throwing up their hands and saying, "yep, I guess you're right since you have all the facts at your command." I know at my age I can't aspire to that kind of open-mindedness. So, in the meantime, we can just argue around the truth, never having access to it w/o doing a "format" command on our personal harddrives first.
