I don't think it is reasonable to necessarily assume someone is lying because they didn't go public immediately to report an unwanted sexual encounter that happened to them when they were much younger. Corroboration is coming from people she told about the incident at the time. That's very powerful and makes her account more believable. If the accuser were lying, it seems highly unlikely that the corroborators would also lie now, particularly if they are people the accuser has not remained especially close to over the intervening years.. We are very different people when we are twenty four versus when we are forty-seven.
When you put corroboration together with so many other accounts, some eerily similar, of so many other later-reported incidents of Trump's unwanted sexual advances on women he barely knew, and then take into consideration that Donald Trump has bragged about assaulting women, it seems a person would be rather foolish, not to consider this latest allegation as very likely true.
Were there no corroboration and no known history of the accused having engaged in such behavior, we'd be justified in suspecting political motivation behind such a long delayed accusation. It seems that's not the case here.
