You could try to repair your windows install not quite reinstalling but not a quick fix either.

It seems not working on the latest Windows 10. just tested it on my HP laptop

Much easier to use the cmd.exe rename trick to reset the password.

Also there was no W10 in 2011...

Agree. it is free and works. Another way is by enabling the default admin account: http://www.uukeys.com/bypass-windows-7-8-10-password.html

No matter the Windwos 7/8/10 user , if it really works as you say , i would recommend it to my friends and family ,
