huh? Forexfactory is one of the worst.
There are a couple of major events happening in China.
They have no idea what is happening in China.

Forexfactory is ok for US and Europe-based events.

They publish China's events, bank holidays and the publishing of numerous China's economic numbers. US and Europe are still forex's biggest players as of now. I know China is eager to change that but for now it will have to wait. LOL

Unfortunately, they

-don't know which are the major events from China

For China-related events, I use other economic calendars

If nobody knows about them and our trading didn't get affected much if at all without knowing about them then that means these events are not important no matter how "major" they might be in China.

Anyway, to each its own! I find forexfactory quite useful.

Forex Factory does have few decent (older) threads where you can learn something. The problem with Forex Factory (and most FX forums) is that people are regurgitating the same retail stuff such as candlesticks and classical TA while unaware that FX patterns differently than other markets.

If you want to improve your FX trading then private forex forums could be a better option. In private forums people are helping each other mastering one particular type of strategy. However, such private forums are not advertised publicly, are not for beginners, and the quality of such forums can vary a lot.

All forums no matter public or private work on the same principle of life, lowest common denominator, meaning if you can't filter out the 1% or 0.1% which most can't, you end up learning what they can't do, not what can be done.

When you ignore the public noise your lowest common denominator becomes everyone's best, the above is Freemium arbitrage using the lowest settings possible - point-in-time not historical - 0.58% per day is better than anyone can achieve per month, which is exactly how it should be.

One good filter is to generally beware of people on public forums who are experts in creating datamining algos and quoting P/L in percentages instead of R/R. Usually such people are unable to read the market and to “look under the bonnet”.

Be careful of the so called experts whose life revolves around risk/reward simply because they use a logarithmic curve, if you use an exponential curve then the primary risk/reward calculation you have are the first trades to 'incubate' (this is above their pay grade), logarithmic which everyone uses (because it's cheap) is a fickle beast that the institutions love to abuse, like I said public forums, group think, et al are about lowest common denominator.

That caught my interest. Which private Forex Forums are of (very) good quality you can recommend, if you want to shed some light here ? And which older threads you would recommend to read/study on FF ?
