Their description is poorly worded and may have led you astray. Depth of market != volume!Quote from atticus:
Direct from HotSpot: Depth of market represents the total volume traded by Hotspot FX users. There is no volume statistic reported for the foreign exchange industry. Therefore all volume numbers reported are internal.
Quote from Trader KGB:
atticus - I simply asked for a link. Nothing on eSignal or HotSpot's website mentions anything about volume feed (i.e. nominal amount traded).
Their description is poorly worded and may have led you astray. Depth of market != volume!
Why would HS offer to eSignal subscribers for $20 what they don't even offer to their institutional clients on FXi? Try thinking logically instead of resulting to profanity...
Quote from davidmaria1:
I would imagine that ANY broker could provide a volume on their own platform, as it would calculate only their own trades. Not to be paranoid, but imagine how deceptive you could be with a DOM display of your own making.
Quote from atticus:
KGB is referring to the order book; bids and offers outside BBO. I am specifically referring to the volume histogram charts produced on GTIS HotSpot tickers.
Quote from Turhovach:
"Almost all the Forex charts I've seen do not have volume"
That's because there is NO volume reporting mechanism in the Forex market. Forex is NOT a centralized exchange or market like Futures, etc.
Anyone who claims to be reporting volume is offering useless data.
