Foreigners are fascinated with our politics. Why?

Quote from Ivanovich:

No, but if the majority were duped or FEEL that they were duped (like myself) then it's a one off.
given what we know now and given that we only had two choices. obama or mccain. i think obama has shown to be the best choice.

has he done everything he promised exactly as promised. hell no. but he is not a king he is a president. he has to make compromises. i think in most cases people that voted for him are upset because he went too far to the right.

Well, if you keep the label of republican (like Lincoln) then yes.

If you look to the mentality of the republicans, you see the same mindset as you saw in the south before they seceded...

Quote from Gabfly1:

Republicans have become obstructionist like never before. It is unprecedented.

Quote from Scataphagos:

You've just said it.. and many others have to. Frankly, I don't see it. (Sounds like y'all have just parrot-ed somebody else's vile spew...)

The negative rap on her is overdone and not deserved.
This from a self-styled "scientist."

Quote from Gabfly1:

He is doing his best to do as he promised. There is no duping going on. He is operating in a hostile environment because the sore losers are doing everything in their power to obstruct him, regardless of the cost to country.

Unfortunately for him, we (the average, middle of the road American) don't see it that way.

Too far to the right?? Is that a mistype?

From what I know of you (on this board) you would be an example of the right fringe, and while many of your points I agree with, I think some of your philosophies are neither realistic nor moderate enough to consider.

Quote from Kassz007:

... the Conservatives winning office the past two elections as well as their constant lead in the polls are evidence of Canadians' desire for less government...

Hmmm, possibly the reason for Gabfly1 and fkbsuhites's extreme frustration?

Driving them completely off the deep end.

Like the fish that you are, you'll bite anything that sparkles. Our 'conservative" government is probably equivalent to, or left of, your Democrat party.
