I think people are generally confusing cultural difference (American vs non-American) with class difference (high class vs low class).
When some of you praise your elegant, graceful, and beautiful Asian wife/girlfriend, I'm sure you're not talking about a poor factory worker in Canton. The very fact that she was able to meet you, already filters her to be among the top elite from China/Japan. I have no experience with Filippinos so I don't know how their mail-order brides work out. But in general the Asians you see are at least upper-middle class, at least for two generations, often many more generations.
OTOH, the Americans you see are most likely much lower in class status. That's why they seem to lack the good mannerism and quality usually required of a happy marriage.
BTW, before you tell me that the American girl was making 100k a year, class is not defined by how much money you make. It's defined by how you're brought up. That cannot be faked. That's also why it takes a number of generations of good education to really define your class. Bill Clinton makes millions, and he's been the president. But he's still showing his true class by the way he chases women, and by the women he chases.
