For my Christians Friends

Quote from Turok:

According to the arguments some have presented here, to be logical I must answer "I don't know". According to them *I can't know* since, well, I haven't dropped every possible rock every possible time from the begining to eternity.

I'm calling BS on that one and am concluding that there isn't a whit of difference between the atheist and agnostic that *I* know.

By answering yes, you realize you are placing Faith in science. The same science that Atheist place their FAITH in. But on a deeper note, you are placing FAITH on laws of the universe. Natural laws that came to be by something that created them. What that something truly is, one can only theorize about until actually evidence is shown. Can you pray to that something ? You can do waht ever you want because that something gave you a mind to choose.

I got a question to you guys. How do you go about voting? For those who don't believe in a higher power, who are you voting for in the presidential election ?

Quote from Thunderdog:

Truth be told, it's getting fairly discouraging. In all my time on this topic in the various related threads, I don't know if we even made a dent. Meanwhile, I already missed a couple of setups just today. I really need to prioritize, but I can get carried away.

Don't give up the fight T dog. Remember positive thinking.

:)

I'm curious how do you perceive voting and a higher power in the same context?

Just curious if those who don't believe still vote, considering the lack of atheist or agnostic candidates.

I lost my wallet about 3 years ago. I looked everywhere inside of my house. I came to the factual conclusion that my wallet did not exist inside of my house anymore. Therefore I started looking outside of my domain for it. Ended up finding it 3 miles away at a store and a guy had actually turned it in with everything still inside of it. Even If I had never found it, it still existed until proven that it did not anymore. If I had went to the store and the owner gave me a pile of ashes and said, yeah we burned it last night with all of the cardboard boxes then one could make an argument for nonexistence.

So who is going to step up and show me how you prove non existence. To do so one must show proof that everywhere has been searched for it. Do you have evidence that everywhere in the universe has been searched by science ? Or are you just basing a position on personal opinion just like a theist ?

Quote from volente_00:

The sun rose today. I say it will rise tomorrow. It is possible that it will not ? Yes, but I have a high degree of faith that it will. The same faith that you place in science and the same faith that you place in your atheist religion. What a mans sees often depends on what he is looking for. Seems to me if there is no God, and no heaven then why are you wasting your precious time trying to convince others? It should not matter what others think as long as you are happy. The simple fact remains that you can not prove that God does not exist, so your basic premise is groundless.

Attempting to "validate" the existence of God on the basis of mere word play is laughable. That even the word play is flawed makes it sad.

And so, I pray that you will one day wake up and realize just how ignorant you really are, not even being able to keep your own brand of logic internally consistent. And should that blessed day miraculously come to pass, I will then pray that you will forgive yourself for having used your brainpan all these years to fry chicken. Go in peace, go with God. Whatever you do, just go.

You held the wallet in your hand, it was known to exist.
