In your analogy you have a guy lost in the desert. He can only see desert.

So the map does not show the desert which you see. Then similar to the Bible, it is not fit for that purpose.
A properly prepared traveler would get a map covering the area he was actually going to travel through. He is able to confirm its validity by noting what it says about areas he knew of or is passing through on his journey.
Better yet, get a satnav. Likewise test its reliability first.
Sensible people would be well prepared to travel through a desert. They would not use a story book like the Bible written "before you were born when your own eyes do not see what the story book shows"
Now, do you see that analogy? Is it really that difficult?

The guy is lost. The map written by someone before he was born shows a city 5 miles due west. Does he see the city with his own eyes ? By choosing the map, he is putting his faith in what another has written even though he has never been down the path. How is that any different from the bible ? Don't you see where your simple analogy is directing you?
In science there is no real need to rely on what others have written before. All of it can be tried, retried, tried again and tested to confirm a claim.
Those who have not prepared their journey properly, ie take only what others have written without confirming its validity, may find themselves relying only on faith. Relying only on stories others have written.
There was never any need for the guy to get lost in the desert.
But as he did, the best known chance for him to get out would be by the map. The map, which he could have verified. Which he could have confirmed in the actuality of verified existence.
Nevertheless , he doesn't need faith in the map. He's a dumbass who has a map he should have checked out first off. Simply because he could have. He only assumes or hopes it leads the right way, as he assumed he knew how to cross the desert without making the proper checks.
The Bible is not like that road map. It cannot be tested in that same reality. You have no way to demonstrate in likewise fashion, to yourself or others, what another has written is correct or true before the journey. With the map you can.
Now, to maybe understand why I say your analogy is crummy and for the nth time of asking please answer my question. It may help you understand the fundemental differences which do not make the comparisons required to put forward as your anology.

Do you really want to make analogous a road map - to the Bible. A map for the soul to be guided to a destination by? Well it isn't , is it?
There is no known city which can be confirmed in the actuality of verified existence as there is with a map. You cannot even show there is anything like a lost traveler (supposed soul) other than by more of the same unverifiable writing.
Worse still, the Bible is packed with contradicting and impossible direction, too ill-defined, full of dead ends and circular tracks, impossible to read in the way a commonly understood definition of a guide is.
It is a fantasy story written by others way before you were born, which cannot be tested in having any credibility for what it says it correct.
Not a road map. Certainly nothing at all like a satnav to heaven.
Only a pretend place, which after all is nothing more than somewhere another has written of, way before you were born.
