For all the crybabies: Why not say "FU IRS" and leave the US?

Being critical of the way our elected leaders and their non-elected appointees are addressing the economic problems we face and loving and appreciating the United States for the incredible virtues it still has is not mutually exclusive.

Makloda, I believe you are presenting a false dichotomy. What you are essentially stating is 'love it or leave it.'

What about the right to petition the government for redress, and loudly and roundly criticize the government and the policies our elected officials design and propose implementing, while still remaining lyal citizens?

If you claim one can't be critical, even uber critical, of one's government, while still appreciating the good in this nation, I say that you're wrong and presenting a false choice.

jamis359, you are so patriotic. I wonder if you would feel the same way when your tax rate hits 60%.. 80%.. 95%..

Do you have kids? they have been saddled with this new debt that their own grandchildren will never see paid off. They will be born slaves but at least they can stand proud and tell their friends that their great grandfather didnt "cut and run" while the scumbag politicians were selling them all down the river.

Jamis359,

I guess the broadside kick to the face of reality sucks don't it?

If not, we are still waiting for your answers to our previous questions.

There is a much easier way. Buy a corporation and/or start a corporation.

If you buy a corporation, I would actually suggest creating your own corporation for the state that you plan to do business in and transfer the assets from the corporation that you buy which will be stipulated in the contract you both sign.

Or you can also buy a % of private corporation and be partners with the person that owns the corporation.

Finally, have someone manage the business for you so that you can devote time to trading.

I currently own 2 businesses, if you wish to buy 1 or become a partner in one just let me know, while you still need to pay some taxes, you get many write offs and can also offset all money you spend on buying or starting the corporation as a loan to yourself.

Remember, the rich created the tax code to benefit themselves. The rich own or are CEO's of corporations.

My tax bill for 2008 was under $ 1,000 but my cost for paying a tax attorney to do my corporate taxes was $ 1,900.00

did you have good cashflow though? If you just have really complicated taxes and didn't really make any money what good is that?

Quote from Sniemiec:

Canada has a world-wide income clause, and a 50% capital gains tax.

If you make $100,000, you pay tax on $50,000 at whatever your marginal tax rate is. Ie. 35%.
Hmmm There must be some loophole. I know somebody with a Canadian passport that now lives outside of Canada. He was able to keep his Canadian passport and does not have to pay taxes in Canada, as he "severed all ties" in Canada. I.e. no more bank accounts, no credit cards, no car, no real estate etc. in Canada. I remember he told me there was a lot of paperwork involved with this procedure. He can visit Canada regularly as long as he stays less than 180 days a year, as he has family there.

He pays (very low) taxes in Europe and doesn't remit a single cent to Canada.

I agree with you in principle. If you love your nation and wish to fight for change you have my full respect.

I live by the credo "If you are a capitalist and you're not an opportunistic egoist you're cheating yourself and your children". Sometimes, there is a fine line between individual patriotism and collective socialism.

However disgusted and patriotic you may be, nothing will stop the taxman taxing yourself and your children over the next 50 years for the trillions of debt. No economic plan will change that, unfortunately. No crying and complaining will make a difference.

I am just pointing out there are options to save our individual wealth for our family's next generation -- at a price of course, as pointed out by others in the thread.

how much in profits did you make?
how about tax in % to your profits?

i can repeat it once again, but i did not found any benefits of being incorporated in US and just file taxes as regular individual. talking about incorporate for trading purposes only

Going forward, this will have nothing to do with where you are domiciled or how you are taxed. It will have everything to do with the form in which your wealth is measured and-or transferred to the next generation.

This should be renamed the "cut and run" thread. I'm born American, proud to be American, and will die an American. If America has to raise my taxes in order to remain solvent, strong and free, then I will do my duty and pay them. Patriotism isn't just saluting the flag, it's also pitching in helping your country when she needs help.

Hmmm...Has anyone ever described you as braindead or brainwashed? Just curious.

Go shopping! Walmart is open 24/7. Be sure to use a credit card if you have one, one with available credit. Taco Bell is open til 2am and can sustain it's business model off the loose change in your pocket. Now get off your ass, do your patriotic duty, and go save the nation!

And don't forget to salute your superiors. :D
