clearly there is some confusion here. Israel is not moving its capital. It has been Jerusalem. Trump has ordered that the embassy be moved from Tel aviv to Jerusalem. This is a major diplomatic faux pas that amounts to a slap in the face to the Palestinians. It is counter to our long-time efforts to negotiate a peaceful settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, discredits the U.S. in the eyes of the Arab world and in the eyes of our allies. It does not serve the best long term interests of the United States! It does, however, fan the fires of discord in the region, and make the Russians very happy, as it serves to drive a wedge between the U.S. and its traditional allies. This latest Trump move is an example of how NOT to conduct foreign policy. I can't imagine that Tillerson approved this move! There will surely be war now between the White House and The State Department. Do you think that is a good idea? I would hardly think so.
