Florida’s Teacher of the Year Bluntly Writes WHY School Violence Is Out of Control

Ok, I'm very interested in understanding how you'd ban guns. However, let's do it in the Gun Control Civil Discourse thread to ensure the conversation remains civil and there's full debate without peanut gallery.

See last post, where I've mentioned our conversation here.
Far enough. And I'd never support a total banning of guns.

Why should the legislature take up a bill that has no chance of passing?

We have decided this issue of gun bans and need to move on to productive discussions of how to prevent future tragedies. Perhaps regulating violent video games and entertainment? Funny how liberals have no interest whatsoever in that. I'm not in favor of it either, but we can show some correlation between the availability of violence porn and these shootings, while there is no evidence that gun ownership is related to them.

Put another way, what changed in our society? We have always had high rates of gun ownership. Probably the percentage of households with guns is lower now than in the past. Violent video games were not available until fairly recently however. It doesn't take a great leap of imagination to see that constant exposure to first person shooter games could warp some kids.

Far enough.
Freudian slip?
I'd never support a total banning of guns.
It's worth discussing, if only because the gung-ho pro-gunners believe in all-or-nothing thinking. Perhaps they should try a teaspoon of their own tasty medicine, eh? :D

Open the negotiation/discussion with no guns, cars or butter knives, and then reluctantly negotiate on the barest of essentials.

There's a reason why the military has graduated from bullseye to silhouette to first person video.

Open the discussion with no guns, cars or butter knives, and then be willing to negotiate in fractions.

Just kidding... stay armed, my friends!

Maybe those kids at Parkland could get a high school degree before they start advising the US gov't on changes to gun laws. Just a thought.

Calling a high school diploma a "degree" suggests that you haven't gotten one yourself. So perhaps you should follow your own advice.

I think they all ready have the education they need to be experts on gun laws.

Steve Scalise and the republican party have the kind of education you're referring to, plus a bonus that they've even graduated from high school, unlike the experts you promote.
