Florida vs California...

Am considering a move out to FLA...I want to buy a house, or at least rent one for a reasonable price...

Real estate remains retarded out here in LALAland..

and while it may fall in FLA (looking around the suburbs of Tampa), nominally it can't fall as much as it can here..

Anyways, just wanted to hear what you guys think of living in FLA vs CA...

Cheers big ears..

Do you really want to deal with Hurricanes year in, and year out and a TON of humidity?

:D

If money were no object, I'd agree bro. HUGE differential in price. For as little as 250K (I'm talking Port Ste. Lucie ect) one can own a own with a pool. For 400k one can buy a SFH (a decent one) in most any community in the state. Granted not chump change. California however is outragous. I'd say double in price. Even the high end stuff. Those 2mil places off Miami Road would be 4mil places in West L.A. or Marin. Rent diffs are even worse. I know a guy living in an ocean view 1bd w/balconey on Collins at 55th. $1100. In Santa Monica a place like that would be close to 3k. Even in San Diego it would be double. Besides wouldn't you freeze at night?

C'mon Cubano...don't knock Florida. There's nothing stopping you from wading through some canals...

Ive only been hit 2 times...andrew and wilma....but thats 2 too many if you ask me...plus every year we go thru the drill...long gas lines, no water at publix and all for nothing ( which is fine by me)...id definitely stay in cali

I live in the Tampa area. It's nice. Never been to CA so can't comment on the comparison. It's very laid back here...
