Florida Schools Struggle to Pay Teachers as Investments Frozen

Quote from bruceistheone:

I heard teachers only work an average of 180 days a year. Teachers should spend more time panhandling like the rest of Floridians.

That's funny in more than one way.

I live in the panhandle, and yes there is a tremendous problem with panhandlers between vagrants and migrant workers and hurrican "refugees" from New Orleans.

ha ha ha good one.

Quote from flytiger:

Fuck that. Yesterday, a guy that was going to testify in a robbery case was taken out by a high powered rifle. He was on his front stoop having a smoke. that's why I want out. It's like being in the Magnificant Seven w/o Yul Brenner and Steve McQueen. We gotta a bunch of people speaking Spanish who want to kill us.
smoking kills...

Quote from TheDarkness:

Teachers should be among the highest paid professionals. There are some bad ones for sure, but there are some damn good ones too. Florida needs to get their shit together. ( I am FL res, and no I have no affiliation or relationship with any teachers...I am pretty new here in Sunny FL).

Education should be privatized. Actually the only reason the goverment got involved in it anyway was because the economy couldn't support privatization. Now it can. We spend more per pupil through the goverment here in California then the better private schools charge.

Plus education is just a big conduit of money through the teachers union to give to the socialist democrats.

Education boards don't care about education. They just want a raise.
