A Florida high school is under lockdown and police are on the scene after reports of shots fired and potential victims, officials said Wednesday.

Coral Springs Police asked the public to avoid the area of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, saying it was an active scene.

Authorities also said students and teachers should remain barricaded in the school until they could be reached by police

Dispatch at the Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed the school was on lockdown and police were on location.

According to WSVN, the Margate Fire Rescue team described the scene as a mass casualty incident, which reportedly means at least 20 people were injured.

It's a mass shooting at a school, that automatically means it has to be politicized. Blame Whitey for this.

Because it didn't seem fitting to post it in one of the trading forums, and it will inevitably return to a gun control argument. Or racism if Covertibility posts in the thread.

They say in Colombia, we don't have a cocaine problem, America has a user problem. The same deal with ARs and immature men.
 
• Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said 17 people were killed and at least a dozen others were injured and transported to local hospitals. Of the injured, three are in critical condition, hospital officials said.

• Israel said that an "AR-15-style weapon" and multiple magazines were recovered at the scene.
 
How many people would the average liberal be willing to sacifice to repeal the second amendment?

Personally, I would be willing sacrifice about half of this country’s population to keep the second amendment as it is, even though I have never owned a gun.

To me, there are similaries to our rights in the first and second amenments. There are some that will misuse their freedoms in such a way that adversely affect others. This does not mean it is appropiate to take these rights away from everybody in an effort to prevent inevitable misuse.
