The USA defended Kuwait in 1991 mostly because Saddam was selling to the region that the new post USSR, US controlled unipolar world, would only last five years, and an opportunity presented to deliver a lesson to the region.

Saddam was a very convenient whipping boy, twice.

It was always about something different to what you swallowed. WMDs? You bought that? They only had artist impressions of what WMDs might look like.

And the US has reigned for a long time, not a bad run.

Yeah, I guess I just made up the Bush/Cheney war that they started where WMDs was the main reason, a secondary reason was they claimed Hussein was involved with 9/11. That is a lie that was told by Liz Cheney well after it been proven to not be true.

I'm not an original Coke Republican, that was my upbringing. But I have just enough conservative in me to see as Pence did, Trump put himself before the constitution and so he can't happen again.
