After using firefox for many years, I decided to try the chrome beta.
1)Chrome does load faster. Try both firefox and chrome on a dual core intel computer with over 1 GB of memory, and Chrome loads up almost instantly.
2) My websites that I use the most load faster
3) I like the fact that I can just type google in the address bar and press enter, and google's web site comes up.
4) Took me a little while but figured out that by pressing ctrl-b will bring up or hide the bookmarks. I think I will use chrome for just going to my main sites, and let firefox clog up my computer with bookmarks.
5) I was able to setup myyahoo as my home page without problems since I use that with firefox.
I never thought I would want to use another browser after using firefox, but I actually like this one better.
1. What version of firefox? Sounds like you might be on 3.0 still - also apples for apples comparisons start without add-ons which can make a big difference to load times. The article above compares 3.1 with google and 3.1 wins one variation and loses the other but the differences are less than 10% each way. 3.2 seems better than 3.1
2. same question, same comment that test results don't support it if you're on at least 3.1
3. On firefox 3.2 the behaviour is exactly the same, type google or cisco or whatever and it finds it. I think 3.1 is the same and I'm pretty sure IE8 is too.
4. What do you mean?
5. You can do that with firefox too???
