Firefox vs. Chrome

Quote from oraclewizard77:

After using firefox for many years, I decided to try the chrome beta.

1)Chrome does load faster. Try both firefox and chrome on a dual core intel computer with over 1 GB of memory, and Chrome loads up almost instantly.

2) My websites that I use the most load faster

3) I like the fact that I can just type google in the address bar and press enter, and google's web site comes up.

4) Took me a little while but figured out that by pressing ctrl-b will bring up or hide the bookmarks. I think I will use chrome for just going to my main sites, and let firefox clog up my computer with bookmarks.

5) I was able to setup myyahoo as my home page without problems since I use that with firefox.

I never thought I would want to use another browser after using firefox, but I actually like this one better.

1. What version of firefox? Sounds like you might be on 3.0 still - also apples for apples comparisons start without add-ons which can make a big difference to load times. The article above compares 3.1 with google and 3.1 wins one variation and loses the other but the differences are less than 10% each way. 3.2 seems better than 3.1

2. same question, same comment that test results don't support it if you're on at least 3.1

3. On firefox 3.2 the behaviour is exactly the same, type google or cisco or whatever and it finds it. I think 3.1 is the same and I'm pretty sure IE8 is too.

4. What do you mean?

5. You can do that with firefox too???

"Google Chrome for Linux is in development and a team of engineers is working hard to bring it to you as soon as possible."

in about:config in Firefox add a new setting nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set it to 0.
Firefox normally waits 250ms before displaying anything..
and change network.http.pipelining to true

Its not a racial bias.

I know, often like, and sometimes admire a large number of chinese and have for years. From Taiwan, the straights, and those that have escaped from China or more recently left freely. Not one. Lots.

Its about the country and the current dominant commy/cap culture. China is a predatory nation in an expansionist phase. There is also a huge amount of theft of intellectual property. Finally there is disgusting abuse of civil liberties. Forget the square ... just look at where the state gets its body parts.

Disgusting. And for google to support the suppression of the Chinese people (whichever of many races they might belong to) is a strong statement about google's morals.

This isn't about race you dipstick ... its about a Government and system that is corrupt, abuses its people, and is getting help from Google to do that. Its googles morals that I called into question.

Ok, you have turned the point of racial bias to political backlash.

I have no interest to debate politics with you here. Neither ET is such a place. I only want to say one thing:

Don't talk about things you don't know well to pretend you are knowledgable. If you have deep knowledge in the history of China and the world, if you have some first-hand experiences in China, if you know that in 2008 the company which has more PCT patent filing in the world is acutally a Chinese company (its name is Huawei)...you will laugh at how little you know about China and the change is undergoing in today's China.

My advice to you:

Spend more time to study history and gain more first-hand experiences. Leave those childish comments behind. These will serve you in the long run.
