Fired Doctor of Derivatives Waits to Cry as 282,000 Finance Jobs Vanish

I am not happy at all with the direction Obama is heading in.

A stimulus bill that was devoid of at least significant (and badly needed) infrastructure improvements, really being a bailout of state, county and local governments (when they should become leaner and tighten their belts), deficit spending rising at a breakneck speed, and a terrible Geithner bank rescue plan - what next?

I can honestly say for the first time that I honestly can't ever vote for a Republican or Democrat again so long as these parties exist in their current form.

It is with great reluctance that I finally come to grips with the notion that I must dump my idealism about how it is one's 'civic duty' to vote, when I find both 'bought & paid for' political parties completely unpalatable.

I will no longer criticize those who don't vote as long as it's a deliberate decision based on the recognition that the two part system we currently have is certain to doom us, sooner rather than later.

Why not worry about constitutional issues like the tax that congress just passed... it's punitive and after the fact, clearly unconstitutional on two counts. Bailout money went to Acorn to the tune of three and a half billion dollars... unbelievable... so they put forty people on buses and went to harass the people that were getting the punitive taxation bill aimed straight at their heads... does that remind anybody of the Nazi Brown Shirts and Hitlers regime??? I think an issue like that is way more important than some teary eyed report about some H1B's hitting the street...

I was a floor trader at age 23 on the CBOT-I've known millionaires winding up broke with guns in their mouths my entire adult life. So I'm going to read pages and pages about some Indian dp getting fired at Merrill? He shoulda banked a bonus check.

If he's Indian, he probably did. Indians are the cheapest people in the world -- in fact, they just manufactured the world's cheapest car. I don't know how Jews got the stereotype -- Indians are cheaper. He probably has 100k in the bank, but just hates seeing the numbers go down.

I once sold a USED mattress to an Indian guy through Craigslist. I mean, the mattress wasn't even that great, I just said $50 or whatever, just take it away from my house. The guy comes to my house, offers $35 -after looking at it-. I let the guy take the $35 mattress home. I'm thinking, great, $35 to take away a POS from me. Didn't even know people bought used mattresses. 3 hours later, guy calls me up on the phone, says the wife thinks the mattress smells. I told this guy, "Look, you looked at it, you saw the condition, and I gave you a reduced price. It's your mattress now." And I hung up.

Yeah right that Indian guy didn't bank a 100k in 10 years. I refuse to believe it unless he's part white and has the credit-card-spending gene.
 
I'm deeply troubled and concerned about what has happened to these wonderful people.

I think our Federal govt should compensate them for all loss and hardship.

Its the American way.

Actually he got an L-1, which has even less requirements than an H1-b.

Have to agree with most of the views above - no sympathy for these "finance" people.

Maybe they can go to work for ACORN or Obama's federal service thing (sarcasm).

If we read closely, He and wife are british citizens. For all we know he may be third generation.... so you can forget the saving/cheap gene then.
