Firearm Wanted

Quote from LEAPup:

I LOVE Texas!!! And yes, you're not kidding. You can legally shoot anyone stealing on your property!!! Did I say I love Texas?!?!

Its even a misdemeanor crime (on the books in tx still) for a property owner during a natural disaster, who owns a firearm, to NOT use it to defend their neigborhood. God bless Texas!!

Thanks.......I love Texas, too. My great, great, grandmother's brother's son was the first governor of Texas (Henderson).....real close kin, huh? Some kind of distant cousin, I guess. Stosh

What matches up very well with weapons is some Ninja skills. Getting a gun does not make you a good shooter, taking some shooting lessons is just the basics.. mastering a martial art and then going on to mastering the arts... that will make you a much better combat shooter.

How did all those samurai's die in that movie the last samurai again? oh yeah, thats right...they were all shot! So much for ninja skills vs guns.

Good points.
However the gentleman lives in NYC.God bless TX & TX thinkers.

May [also] be best, buy some real estate in upstate NY;
upstaters in NY may like Bloomberg news but they like guns & hunting much more than MR mayor Bloomberg.Their laws prove that.

Firearms laws are so complex nowdays , may want to buy thru a Fed Firearms liscensed dealer. If for example they catch you with a shotgun barrel just .25 of an inch wrong,they may show you no mercy.:cool:

Other possibilities include having friends like black belt Chuck Norris;
doing business where they respect & give the po-lice free coffee.LOL

:D

You'll probably never have to fire it if the intruder hears the even "louder" sound of the chunk-chunk from the first shell being chambered.

Absolutely! That's called an attention getter!! Ooh rah!!!

Yes, I know how loud a shotgun is, and I know the risks. Forgetting about it is not an option, but thanks for the advice.

I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6...

Boxer, you should check into a Mossberg M590 (has the military spec action-I have one, and love it!), or Remington 870 with 18" barrel.

After you get the 12G shotgun (either 20" or 18"), you'll want to go to Brownelles web site and look into the recoil reducing folding stock. It's about $110, but WELL worth it!

With that set up you'll have a semi-tactical shotgun that will fit in very tight spots until you're ready to slap oped the folding stock, and chamber a round. you'll want to buy 3" magnum OO buckshot rounds, NOT slugs or birdshot.

Now if you want to get really fancy, get a new foregrip that takes a tactical led flashlight mount. You get this set up and you'll be in good shape!

Again, Remington 870express magnum, or Mossberg M590 with recoil reducing folding/collapsable stock should be about $600 all together.

If you've got more $$ to spend go to the wilson's combat website and check out their tactical shotguns. If you want one, have a friend or family member NOT in ny city buy it through an FFL dealer, and take it home with you turn-key, and ready to go! (No, I can't help with this as I'm a Police Officer part-time, and cannot break the law even as dumb as it is in NY.) I WILL, however, give you advice as I can assure you the police CANNOT protect you in an instant during a life and death situation. Additionally, I'll point to the above: I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6 anyday! Get your shotgun, don't do anything stupid with it, and sleep well knowing you can actually defend yourself.

Texas: you guys ever decide to secede from the union, I am there.

I'm friends with a CEO of an Advisory Firm in Dallas. He says its not likely that Texas would ever break away from the union. However, he also said if things in the US go socialist (like its going now), it could very well happen as the people of Texas will NOT go from citizens to subjects.

I love Texas!!! I'm considering a second residence there as rural property is going very cheap if you know where to look. After my youngest Son graduates High School, I'm moving there (with my Wife. Didn't mean to forget to mention her! Lol!!)

Now that's how to give advice! Thanks LEAPup, and semper fi.

I have a 9 milli in the closet but it's not clipped....wouldn't want my son to get a hold of it. It probably wouldnt help much in an emergency situation ( I said I would need 1 minute to get it ready for fire )...but it's good to know the odds are tilted in me favor...
