To be broadly diversified, you'll need lots of spread trading opportunities in many sectors. This aligns best with a trend approach that qualifies candidates based on a fundamental relationship and statistical correlation. There are some trading groups you can reference. My aim in the next six months is to have a diversified portfolio of spreads. By trading several different uncorrelated markets, portfolio risk is (hopefully) mitigated. Don Bright always spoke about how his traders ran portfolios with "hundreds of spreads"... Does anybody have any thoughts on this subject?
Just keep in mind that most book authors write about trading strategies after they stop working.
