Not worth investigating...most of the stocks highlighted by this screen did not do all that much climbing and some of them even fell during the day.Since none of my new ideas are working when the market is bearish, I want to see what these stocks do during the day: CVX, FOX, (FOXA), SAP, KTOS, DOC, PETQ, SNN, MMLP and GTLS
Going at it from a slightly different angle, I want to see where OAK is at the end of the day. It's currently selling at $48.95. I'm also watching QNST and BRKR. I would be watching SPWR as well, but its percent day change is already at 11.06%Not worth investigating...most of the stocks highlighted by this screen did not do all that much climbing and some of them even fell during the day.
These equities did not continue to climb, but three hours into the New York session a couple of stocks that look like they might do so include DCP from $31.20 and SMPL from $22.51. Other possibilities are WCN, currently at $92.38; FNKO at $21.92; SJI at $32.49; MWA at $9.33 and CHRS at $17.20.Going at it from a slightly different angle, I want to see where OAK is at the end of the day. Six of the seven did indeed rise, but so did the major indices during the second half of the day, so this was not the best of test runs. This little exercise reminded me of the trading I did back in 2008 to 2010, when the pattern day trading rule kept me from doing better than break even. (I find it much easier to select stocks likely to close higher by the end of the same day than those that are likely to close higher the next day.)Three hours into the New York session a couple of stocks that look like they might continue to climb.
I like this approach. The only problem is, I would need to have a $25,000 account to use it (and my account has never been more than $15,000). Also, it doesn't seem to uncover any 5% to 11% blockbusters, but hey, a little bit of green day-after-day is nothing to shake a stick at.I woke up 90 minutes after the NY stock exchange had already opened, and here are the stocks I found on my buy list: AWK, HCP, EXR, SO and HR
